The history of the cave begins in 1960. After the command of the village’s president two young men, Apostolis Lambris and Georgios K. Karakostas, opened a hole on a wall from which cool air gushed. The opening was made in order to discover the inside of the hole, at the command of Anna Petrohilou, Speleologist. There were difficulties entering the cave, because of the height, but after many years the cave was examined and explored. It has length of 270 meters approximately and is accessible to the visitors.
