Katarraktis village is located in an altitude of 800m, northern of the city of Arta in Epirus Province, Northwestern Greece. The village consists of the central village and 4 settlements: Kryopigi, Milea, Sgara and Vlagada. The old name of the village, since 1927, was Shoretsena. Its name came up from the twin waterfalls that are located in small distance a bit higher from the village near the settlement of Kriopigi.
